Potted Plants: Centerpiece and Favor

So, it seems there is a mantra among brides lately - I need "beautiful" on a budget.  And, centerpiece design can add up quickly.  There's always the option to use candles and glassware to dress up your tables.  But, for those of you looking for something a little more unique, I suggest the potted plant centerpiece.

The options are endless and it will give your table a hint of floral or a glimpse of nature.  You can select containers that are contemporary, rustic, charming.   The sky is the limit!  Choose a flowering plant, a succulent, a miniature fern, or herbs.  You can place one show-stopper in the center of the table or place a group of smaller beauties together.

And, if you are also looking for a favor, the potted centerpiece can be a two-for-one hit!  Your guests can take home one of your charming little plants at the end of the night.  Simply place printed cards on the tables to encourage your guests to select a favor from the centerpiece as a thank-you for celebrating with you.

Chocolate Decadence

Mmm. . . Mmm . . . I love the smell of warm, dark chocolate on a Monday morning!  For a chocoholic, this is even better than a daily dose of caffeine.  I began my week by baking a most delicious, decadent treat for a  friend's birthday.  And, since some of my best girlfriends will be celebrating together, I made sure to whip up something loaded with chocolate.

So, what's this special treat?  Special Dark Chocolate Cupcakes.  But wait, there's more!  Each little piece of happiness is filled with a chocolate chunk, cheesecake filling.  Ooooh I can't wait to bite into that creamy goodness!  (Yes I'm waiting until the birthday girl is present to have a taste.  O.k., I did lick the beaters!  But don't tell!)

These were really pretty simple to make and would be scrumptious for a bridal shower or dessert bar.  I made the jumbo size, but you could definitely make these bite-size.  Enjoy the photos and don't drool on your keyboard!

Asian Theme Bridal Shower

I was helping a friend brainstorm on bridal shower plans today, and I have a fabuloso idea to share.  I was inspired by my favorite sushi restaurant and a love for Asian food.  Then, I stumbled across this awesome little treat -- chocolate sushi!  No it's not fish and chocolate.  It's chocolate fashioned to look like sushi.  Can't wait to serve this delicious roll!
