Drumroll please . . . . this month, Pantone announced it's Color of the Year for 2010. Turquoise! Oh the joy! The design possibilities! If you are a fan of all things turquoise, then I know you are super excited. If you are on the fence, then read on with an open mind and think of the possibilities.
A beautiful blend of blue and green, turquoise can be tropical or classically cool. It can remind you of a tranquil beachside retreat. Clear blue oceans and endless sky. On the flip side, turquoise can be a tailored, elegant touch with a maritime flair. I think this color can also translate into any season - paired with bright colors for a summer breezy affair and matched with dark blues and silver for winter.
A very universal color, turquoise can be paired with neutrals and browns, greens, deep blues, and reds and pinks. And, the adventurous may even match it with yellow-greens. The best news, however, is for the bridesmaids. Since it has both warm and cool undertones, turquoise is flattering on everyone. For a casual wedding, choose a beachy cotton dress. Or, glam it up for evening with fine silk and gemstones.
